Food Trip - Cafe Gigi

A lot of things had happened since my last post. A week after Amber turned 1, we went home to Cebu for a two-week holiday. When I came back to work two Mondays ago, more than 230 unread emails were begging to be read.

Still, work is as hectic as ever so I and T with our 13month old bebe -- who at this very young age can now walk! -- spend our weekends pigging out and trying our best to burn those calories by walking.

(Amber started walking by herself last June 17 -- I specifically marked my calendar with her progress!)

Anyway, this is supposed to be a food post so here it goes. (I have a lot worth posting but I just don't have time to do so.)

Last Saturday we went to dinner at Cafe Gigi in Aqua City, Odaiba. Cafe Gigi serves European cuisine.

The Interior is modern. Red and White with cozy lighting made up for the posh setting. By the way, they have baby chairs (which I am sure looks from Ikea, hehe).

Couples who wish to dine side by side can do so by reserving the table just facing the window. The famous Rainbow bridge is a sight to behold from the window. Tables near the windows require reservation. We were seated at the center for we didn't make reservations prior.

Opposite of 'The Interior (pt.2) is this. A wine cellar added luxe to the setting.

THE FOOD

Cold Ratatouille Vegetables and Bacon (600JPY)
My first ever Ratatouille! It tasted like Caldereta without beef.

Nordic: Smoked Salmon, sour cream, onion, salad (1,150JPY)

Grilled Sirloin steak with garlic sauce (1,900JPY) Rice on the side -- very Asian, hehe

Rainbow Bridge at the background.

Food is delicious and its price reasonable. The servings were not huge nor small, just the right amount for one person. Of all three, I was impressed by Ratatouille because the ingredients are simple and can easily be found at my nearby grocery (and most likely can be easily made). My curiosity stemmed from, like everyone else (perhaps), the famous animated movie produced by Pixar.
