TV alternate

It dawned on me that my youngest sibling is all grown-up. Other than the improvement on his height, it was when he changed his FB status from 'single' to 'in a relationship' that led me to conclude his maturity.

I commented on that status: "ooii...haha..ok ra na 'dong basta tuon lang pirme." (ooii...haha..That's OK 'dong as long as you study always.)

I admit my reaction was quite exaggerated. I was playing the concerned older sibling, and wanted him to know not to take relationships too seriously.

Just recently, he changed his status to 'it's complicated', then back to 'single'. And we all know what that means. I kept mum about it, pretended not to notice the recent changes of his status. A part of me though felt guilty for I might have scared him...until today.

Earlier today, he skipped lunch and dashed off without saying anything to anyone as to where he's going. He arrived around 3pm, hungry, lol. It so happened that I was at the dining table scanning my notes while he ate his lunch. I asked him where he'd been and he replied he went to school, accompanied a classmate in enrollment. I pressed on why would he accompany some friend (who is probably as old as him) in an enrollment. He didn't answer so I teasingly guessed that the classmate is a girl. Hmmm..

I don't mean to pry on his personal affairs. It's more of being curious, I guess. Generally, a teenager's perspective on love is naive and funny. In this case, a (real) boy's perspective -- I find it interesting. I've read a lot of teen love stories but they focus more on the girl. Besides, I'm sooo bored that I need some source of entertainment other than TV. It is just unfortunate of him as the alternative.

Aww! I haven't reached the "concerned older sibling" stage yet. Not quite looking forward to it! :D
