San ju sai, shigoto ga nai

Due to lack of projects, my contract was terminated therefore making me a bum effective 1st of July. Gotta admit, I was sad, heartbroken – but not long after the day I was told about it, I began to see the brighter side of things. It was as if I skipped the 3 mid stages of Kübler-Ross' model of grieving.

No more chasing time. Days after next Wednesday would be soooo dragging. I sooo hope not.

Plans are still in progress as to what to do for the coming ‘bum’ days. My agent assured me that they will help me find a job here and simultaneously, I am doing my own search elsewhere =P. Also, they said that I can still stay in my apartment while waiting but I’m not gonna do that. I'd rather wait at my husband’s pad while doing my wifely duties..and maybe, explore new things to keep me occupied.

Last night, before my Nihongo session with sensei began, I regretfully told him that THAT was our last. We were able to go as far as Chapter 29 (out of 50), and I couldn’t be more grateful for his help. I jokingly added, ‘san ju sai, shigoto ga nai’. It hit me after saying those words that they rhyme and perfectly describe me. Not wanting to put our efforts into waste, I assured sensei that I will take the JLPT N4. Passing it would serve as a validation though being able to speak the language fluently is far better. (c'mon, I'm working on it.)

This (the bum role) is something new to me and honestly, it’s kinda exciting.

I have been a bum since March. It can't be all bad as long as you have a plan on what to do next.
