DIY Steak

As for most days, T does the cooking while I look after Amber. If he is too tired or simply ran out of ideas to cook, he orders fried chicken as take-out (this deserves a separate post). Well, last Sunday was an exception. Days before that, I told T that I'll be cooking steak for Sunday's lunch since we haven't had steak for quite a while.

I copied this recipe from here.

  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
  • 1 (2 lbs/1 kg) inside round marinating steak, 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick *I used 600grams steak

Preparation is simple. Slather the meat with salt and pepper, then place it in a container. Pour the wine and put the rest of the ingredients (I excluded fresh thyme because it is not available in my nearest grocery). Store in the fridge overnight or at least prepare the marinated steak three hours before cooking.

Instead by grill, I cooked my steak on a pan in medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.
